2002-12-09 - 9:30 p.m. So, I am starting this diary as a log of my Enbrel treatment. Enbrel is a drug that was originally released and intended for use for rheumatoid arthritis, and has also shown success with psoriatic arthritis, which I have a little of. I also have severe, widespread psoriasis. So far, nothing has really helped me. I'm coming to Enbrel after trying all the "big guns" psoriasis treatments, like Neoral, Methotrexate, and Soriatane. I have waited on Enbrel for a year, on a waiting list, due to high demand for it and insufficient production. Finally, it is available for me. I developed psoriasis when I was 18 years old. It started as a small, nickel-sized patch on my scalp, and now it is all over my body, about 70% coverage (1% equals the size of your palm). Anyway, today was my first injection of Enbrel. I take my second one on Thursday. I will update here to keep track of my success (or lack of).
